I have just fully restored a clay walled (at least) 200 year old cottage in Ballydemond, Gorey, Co Wexford.

When I bought it there was an asbestos roof on it. I reinstated the old thatch with reed. I have attached a few photos for you.

I wonder if you could help me by recommending a good value insurance company that will ensure a thatched cottage.

What a magnificent thatch! It's hard to believe that the original grey asbestos tiled roof of the original roof could be transformed into such a golden beauty!

Stephen has been in touch to say that now that he has moved into his new house he will do a bit of research and see if he can unearth some of the history of the house.
